Federal judge allows patent-licensing antitrust case to go forward against Android device-manufacturers

( December 3, 2013, 19:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers has denied the motions to dismiss Cascades complaint, which alleges that Android device manufacturers collectively refused to negotiate licenses for patents used in their products. Rogers found the complaint alleged sufficient facts to infer the plausible existence of a conspiracy to refuse negotiation, and the patent aggregator exclusively dealt with by the manufacturers wielded market power for Cascade’s patents by being the purchasing agent for 90 percent of the mobile phone business using the Android operating system. See document below....
