Canada's Brookfield seeks Indian clearance to acquire American Tower's domestic operations

Data Infrastructure Trust, or DIT, backed by Brookfield Asset Management, announced a $2 billion deal to acquire ATC India, a local subsidiary of American Tower that provides passive telecom infrastructure services in January this year. The proposed acquisition has been filed to the Competition Commission of India under Form II; the deal is expected to close in the second half of this year, subject to regulatory approvals.
