​Japan's Recruit Career announces 75,000 students' data sold in privacy scandal

( August 26, 2019, 06:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japan’s top human resource platform Recruit Career announced Monday that it received a corrective recommendation by the Personal Information Protection Commission for the nearly 8,000 students it failed to get user consent from to sell their job-acceptance probability scores to companies to which they applied for jobs. In the statement, the company also revealed that a total of 74,878 students’ data were used in the transaction. Recruit said that the trial service, provided to 34 companies — out of a total of 38 companies that signed up — lacked a systemized data-privacy compliance framework. which led to the incident.The company’s statement, in Japanese, is attached....
