South Korea to set up AI safety institute by November, unveils full details of AI policy strategies

( September 26, 2024, 01:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: South Korea’s government unveiled further details of its policy strategies to achieve the goal of becoming one of the world’s top three countries in artificial intelligence technology by 2027, following the president’s call for an all-out effort. The government plans to establish an AI safety agency by the end of November and will work to pass the country’s comprehensive AI law through the opposition-controlled parliament by the end of 2024.
