Hood argues against releasing MPAA correspondence and other documents to Google

( May 1, 2015, 15:26 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood has filed a brief arguing that he should not have to release his communications with Vans Stevenson, a senior vice president for state government affairs with the Motion Picture Association of America. Hood said his investigation of Google's search practices involved as many as 37 other states, and that the subpoena he issued to Google in October 2014 demanding information needs to understood on that base. "This Attorney General’s issuance of the disputed Subpoena in October 2014 clearly did not occur in isolation but as demonstrated from the record, evolved over a considerable period of time and involved the joint efforts by multiple state Attorneys General," Hood said. Please see attached document...
