FTC opinion affirms monopolization count, dismisses remaining six

( February 6, 2014, 18:38 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Federal Trade Commission affirmed one count of an internal judge's ruling that McWane unlawfully maintained its monopoly in the domestic fittings market through an unlawful exclusive dealing policy. In a 41-page opinion authored by Chairwoman Edith Ramirez, the commission dismissed the remaining counts. While Ramirez and her fellow Democrat Julie Brill found that McWane engaged in a price-fixing conspiracy, Republican Commissioners Maureen Ohlhausen and Joshua Wright disagreed. Wright also submitted a dissent disagreeing with the monopolization finding.See document below....
