Polish motorway operator must repay excess $248 million in state aid, EU says

( August 25, 2017, 09:45 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Polish motorway operator AWSA must repay 895 million Polish zloty ($248 million) to the Polish state after it was overcompensated for a change in Polish law on road tolls, the European Commission has said. AWSA, which manages Poland's A2 motorway, was granted the subsidy to compensate for a rule change which would have resulted in a loss of revenue. The EU regulator found that the money granted to the operator actually improved its expected financial situation.Full statement follows....
