Google's changes to Privacy Sandbox remain under UK's antitrust watchdog's review

( September 24, 2024, 13:42 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The UK's Competition and Markets Authority said that competition concerns "remain" regarding Google's plans to maintain support for third-party cookies. The assessment follows a public consultation of Google's announcement in July that it no longer plans to remove support of third-party cookies, which are used for targeted advertising. The CMA said in a statement that the changes need to be reflected in Google’s planned Privacy Sandbox browser changes. Google and the CMA are in talks on changes to address the CMA's competition concerns. The CMA said "further action" may be needed if it can't agree on changes to the commitments that address its concerns.Full statement below:...
