Quirón-Clínica Santa Cristina deal gains conditional approval in Spain

( April 24, 2019, 12:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Plans by Helios Healthcare Spain, part of Grupo Quirón, to acquire its only private rival in the province of Albacete, Clínica Santa Cristina, have been cleared by Spain's competition watchdog with conditions. The Comisión Nacional de los Mercados y la Competencia said the deal would give Grupo Quirón a monopoly in long-term private hospital stays in Albacete, and made conditions including that quality of private healthcare services must be improved, cost rises avoided and rivals granted access to hospitals belonging to Grupo Quirón.Statement follows in Spanish....
