​Mofcom publishes statement on canceled Applied Materials, Tokyo Electron merger

( April 29, 2015, 02:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China’s Ministry of Commerce Tuesday published a statement regarding the cancelation of the proposed merger between Applied Materials and Tokyo Electron. Mofcom formally launched a review on Jan. 26, 2014, after receiving notification of the merger on Nov. 19, 2013. The companies refiled twice during the review, which lasted one year and three months.
