Unfair-pricing complaints in UK over goods supply drop sharply, CMA says

( March 15, 2021, 10:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The number of complaints in the UK during the Covid-19 outbreak over the unfair pricing of goods — such as hand sanitizer and essential foods — has declined substantially over the past year, said the Competition and Markets Authority in an update of its enforcement work over the pandemic. There were fewer than 100 coronavirus price-related complaints in February, compared with more than 16,000 in March 2020, the CMA said. The authority added that the biggest problem continues to be "businesses behaving unfairly" in relation to coronavirus cancellations and refunds, such as holiday bookings. Statement follows....
