IBM VP Combe urges greater transparency in AI debate

She told attendees Congress should leverage existing laws rather than enact AI-specific ones, that IBM believes the use of datasets to train foundational models is a nonactionable fair use and that “open and proprietary can, and should, coexist.”The Intellectual Property Owners Association kicked off its annual meeting today with a keynote address by International Business Machines Corp.
