The Korea Fair Trade Commission announced today that it decided to impose remedial measures out of concerns about possible anticompetitive effects on the content market. SK Telecom, South Korea's largest telecommunications company, wants to merge its own OTT-services platform Oksusu with Pooq, another OTT platform operated by South Korea's broadcasting companies KBS, MBC and SBS. The regulator was concerned that access to content created by the broadcasting companies would be restricted for rival OTT-services providers after the merger.The regulator's statement, in Korean, is attached....
