Lithuanian aid for renewable electricity sources approved by EU Commission

( April 23, 2019, 13:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: State aid plans to provide 385 million euros in support to Lithuanian installations that generate electricity from renewable sources such as wind, solar or hydropower have been approved by the European Commission. The EU regulator said it had assessed the measure under state aid rules and “found that the aid has an incentive effect, as the market price does not fully cover the costs of generating electricity from renewable energy sources and the beneficiaries will have to apply for the aid before the generating installations start operating.”Statement follows....
