( April 18, 2019, 18:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Uniper should spin off its holding in Russian utility Unipro, activist investor Knight Vinke said today, seeking to remove one obstacle preventing Finland’s Fortum from taking full control of the German utility. The hedge fund is seeking to add a resolution to a May 22 shareholder meeting under which Uniper’s management would prepare the groundwork for spinning off the 83.73 percent holding. State-backed Fortum owns 49.99 percent of Uniper but may not increase the stake under a Russian antitrust ruling that said Unipro’s water-testing license can’t be majority owned by a foreign state-controlled company.Statement attached below. ...
