( August 3, 2009, 13:34 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Palmolive has announced that it received three Statement of Objections from the antitrust authorities in Spain, Switzerland and Greece. Further probes are being carried out in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, South Africa and the United Kingdom.During the period from February 2006 to June 2009, the Company learned that investigations relating to potential competition law violations involving the Company’s subsidiaries had been commenced by governmental authorities in the European Union, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. In February 2008, the federal competition authority in Germany imposed fines on four of the Company’s competitors, but the Company was not fined due to its cooperation with the German authorities, consistent with the Company’s policy to cooperate with the authorities in such matters as discussed below....
