Microsoft sees EU regulator stand down on Inflection

By Natalie McNelis ( September 18, 2024, 16:04 GMT | Insight) -- The European Commission’s loss in the Illumina-Grail case continues to have its repercussions, as the EU executive announced today that it wouldn't be reviewing Microsoft’s Inflection deal. With the Article 22 referral route closed for below-threshold deals, the commission will be "playing less of a coordination role in the process, in terms of anticipating possible referrals,” Inge Bernaerts, its head of EU competition policy, said recently.The European Commission’s loss in the Illumina-Grail case continues to have its repercussions, as the EU executive announced today that it wouldn't be reviewing Microsoft’s Inflection deal after all (see here)....
