SoftBank agrees to buy ARM Holdings for $31bn

( July 18, 2016, 07:14 GMT | Official Statement) -- SoftBank Group today announced that it has reached an agreement with UK-based ARM Holdings on the terms of a recommended all-cash acquisition of ARM's entire share capital, through which SoftBank will acquire 1,412 million shares of ARM at a total price of approximately 24 billion pounds ($31 billion) by means of a court-sanctioned scheme of arrangement. The acquisition is subject to the approval of ARM’s shareholders and of an English court. ARM’s board has unanimously confirmed that it intends to recommend the acquisition to the firm's shareholders. The companies expect the deal to close in the third quarter of this year, with, ARM becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of SoftBank.SoftBank's statement is attached....
