Hellenic Petroleum fined EUR30,000 in Greece for data breaches

( April 15, 2019, 16:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Greek oil company Hellenic Petroleum has been fined a total of 30,000 euros for breaching national data-protection rules from 1997. The company unlawfully processed personal data and failed to take security measures to prevent information from leaking on the Internet, the Greek data-protection authority said today. The processing of sensitive personal data, which had been outsourced to another company, took place without the prior consent of the individuals and the regulator's permission, it said.
