Backers of California Privacy Rights Act raise more money than opponents, filings show

Groups opposing the proposed California Privacy Rights Act received $48,367 in contributions over the last three months, while supporters received more than $660,390 during the same period, most contributed by its primary sponsor, San Francisco Bay Area real estate developer Alastair Mactaggart, filings show. Opponents of a ballot initiative to strengthen California's existing privacy law may have won several recent endorsements, but that support isn’t translating into cash....
