Australian deals should be subject to mandatory notification, says government-led report

But in a report tabled in the Australian parliament on Tuesday night, the government’s Standing Committee on Economics stopped short of endorsing additional proposals to suspend the completion of deals while they're being assessed by the competition watchdog and to expand the test it uses to assess mergers.
