Data-sharing road transport law review moves closer to completion as EU countries agree on position

( June 2, 2022, 14:53 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A review of a data-sharing road transport law has moved closer to completion after EU member states agreed on a common position on the file. The Intelligent Transport Systems Directive was passed in 2010 to govern data sharing for "intelligent" systems such as eCall. The European Commission proposed an update last year to expand the varieties of data covered. In particular, EU countries want more control over implementation deadlines for certain parts of the new directive. The European Parliament is still to decide its own version of the law, after which negotiations with national governments on a final version can begin.The Council of the EU's press release follows:...
