Nippon Steel-US Steel deal shouldn't be politicized, Japan business lobby tells CFIUS chief

( September 13, 2024, 06:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Japanese business lobby Keidanren expressed its concern to Janet Yellen, chairperson of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, or CFIUS, that political pressure is being brought to bear on the review of Nippon Steel’s proposed deal to buy US Steel. In an open letter, jointly signed by other business lobbies including the US Chamber of Commerce and the Global Business Alliance, the business groups urged CFIUS to maintain its standard, and to ensure political interference does not diminish America's investment climate.The statement follows....
