Broiler chicken producers push for pretrial schedule to address 'unique issues' in end-user price-fixing litigation

( March 22, 2024, 20:41 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Sanderson Farms, OK Foods and other broiler chicken suppliers asked a US federal judge for a status conference to hammer out disagreements over scheduling deadlines in advance of a September trial over end-user consumer class price-fixing claims. "[The End-User Consumer Plaintiffs]' remaining claims present unique issues from the prior trials, and unless these expert issues are resolved early in the process, many pretrial disclosures will require amendments resulting in an inefficient process for both the parties and the Court," the defendants' said in a motion filed in Illinois federal court. The defendants' "unripe" motion does not mention an "impasse" between the parties on deadlines for costs to be levied for any parties who had not yet settled, according to a motion from the plaintiffs.See documents below....
