​CADE postpones inquiry into Ambev´s alleged abuse of position

( January 23, 2015, 19:48 GMT | Official Statement) -- Mlex Summary: The Brazilian antitrust authority has postponed the conclusion of an antitrust inquiry into brewer Ambev to analyze whether information brought by rivals and former distributors constitutes enough evidence to move on with the case. The inquiry was launched in May last year following a complaint by beer distributors who claim to have gone out of business after brewers Brahma and Antarctica merged into Ambev in 2000. Some rivals, such as Brasil Kirin, have told the Brazilian antitrust authority that Ambev engages in commercial practices that hinder competition.Full statement below (in Portuguese)....
