German Environment Ministry Statement: Gabriel supports new procedure for making energy from steam

( July 15, 2009, 08:52 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex E3 Summary: German environment minister Sigmar Gabriel said he would provide a grant of 210,000 euros to a pilot project run by a subsidiary of chemicals firm Akzo Nobel which plans to generate electricity from unused steam. The money comes from the government's environmental innovation programme and aims to tap the steam for use at the company's own chemical plant saving around 2,170 tonnes of carbon dioxide a year.Full statement (in German) follows:...
