UK online platforms should step up preparations for new rules on children’s data, ICO says

( March 2, 2021, 13:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK-based online platforms have been urged to step up their efforts to comply with the Children’s Code, after an initial analysis by the national privacy watchdog showed they are “still in the preparation stages” ahead of the new regulation’s entry into force in September. The Information Commissioner's Office said that businesses “need to turn their awareness into action” to make sure they comply with the code, which is designed to protect children’s data online. The ICO is also looking for “transparency champions” to highlight their work on the issue.Statement follows....
