Trai will address concerns such as who has ultimate rights to a user's data, and issue its recommendations to the telecom department. The move was reportedly triggered by Trai's dissatisfaction with US tech giant Apple's ongoing refusal to list the regulator's Do-Not-Disturb app in its App Store, with Trai accusing Apple of being a "data colonizer." However, some observers questioned whether Trai had the jurisdiction to examine data privacy issues, which extend well beyond its purview to oversee telecom companies.   ...
