Federal court in Paraná state keeps Ronan Maria Pinto in jail, releases Silvio Pereira in Petrobras case

( April 5, 2016, 22:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A Federal court in Paraná state has granted a request by federal prosecutors to turn the temporary detention of businessmen Ronan Maria Pinto into a longer term detention, based on his alleged involvement in a corruption and kickbacks at Petróleo Brasileiro, or Petrobras. Pinto allegedly benefited from a bribery scheme that led to the hiring of engineering company Schahin for contract work by Petrobras. The court has also released the former secretary of Workers Party, Silvio Pereira. Both had been detained since April 1.See decision attached (in Portuguese)....
