Fourth report on State of the Energy Union released

( April 9, 2019, 10:12 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The European Commission today released its fourth report on the State of the Energy Union. The document assesses positively the implementation of the project launched in 2014 by the EU executive arm. But national contributions remain essential. "Europe now has in place the world's most ambitious and advanced climate and energy framework," said Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy Miguel Arias Cañete. "It is now for each member state to follow suit and rapidly integrate national measures on energy, climate, mobility and all other related areas, so Europe leads the way toward climate neutrality by mid-century," said Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, who heads the Energy Union. Statement follows.
