Total drops plan to acquire Autohof Görgen premises

( April 9, 2019, 09:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The German subsidiary of French energy giant Total has withdrawn its plan to acquire 11 premises owned by local filling-station operator Autohof Görgen, before the German regulator has issued its formal decision. The Bundeskartellamt was concerned that the deal, which is still under investigation, would've had a negative impact on consumers. Total already operates six gas stations in and around Trier, near the Luxembourg border, where prices are the highest in Germany. Therefore the full integration of Autohof Görgen would've meant an increased market position for Total and a potential negative effect on gas prices, in the opinion of the regulator.Statement follows in German....
