BMW fined in UK for non-compliance with CMA information request

( December 8, 2022, 10:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: BMW AG has been fined 30,000 pounds ($36,500) — plus a daily penalty of 15,000 pounds — by the UK Competition and Markets Authority, for failing to comply with its information request. The CMA is investigating a number of vehicle manufacturers and trade associations over suspected breaches of competition law, relating to the use of recycled materials in cars, their recyclability, and the arrangements for recycling old or written-off vehicles. The authority said the wider BMW Group had failed to comply with its requests for information, and had claimed that the CMA lacks jurisdiction.Statement follows. The penalty notice is attached....
