Danfoss-Eaton Hydraulics merger faces in-depth EU probe

( September 21, 2020, 17:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Danish engineering-equipment maker Danfoss' plan to acquire Eaton Hydraulics is facing an in-depth EU merger review by the European Commission, opened today. The watchdog is concerned the deal between Danfoss and Ireland-based Eaton’s hydraulics business may reduce competition in the supply of certain hydraulic components for mobile machinery, it said in a statement. The merger would remove one of the main competitors in hydraulic components globally, the commission noted. The deadline for its decision is Feb. 3, 2021.Press release follows....
