US DOJ requires divestitures from Anheuser-Busch for Craft Brew Alliance deal

( September 18, 2020, 21:35 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Anheuser-Busch InBev and Craft Brew Alliance have agreed to divest CBA’s entire Kona brand business in the state of Hawaii, to PV Brewing Partners, for ABI to complete its acquisition of CBA, the US Department of Justice announced. The DOJ said the proposed settlement will maintain competition in the beer industry in Hawaii benefitting consumers. According to the DOJ’s complaint, the merger would likely lessen head-to-head competition in Hawaii between ABI brands, such as Stella Artois and Michelob Ultra, and CBA’s Kona brand.Statement follows in full. ...
