US judge reinstates copyright claims against North Carolina four years after case decided by US Supreme Court

( August 29, 2024, 23:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Video production company Nautilus Productions and its owner, Frederick Allen, will get a second chance at pursuing copyright infringement claims against the State of North Carolina. US District Judge Terrence Boyle of the Eastern District of North Carolina said that pursuant to the 2006 US Supreme Court ruling in United States v. Georgia, when copyright infringement also violates due process, the Copyright Remedy Clarification Act, or CRCA, validly abrogates state sovereign immunity.See document below....
