Hapvida-Plamed deal assigned to CADE Councilor Braido in Brazil

( September 17, 2020, 13:27 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Hapvida Assistência Médica's purchase of the customer portfolio, equipment and medical care unit from rival health insurer Plamed Plano de Assistência Médica has been assigned to Brazilian competition authority Councilor Conselheiro Luis Henrique Bertolino Braido after the agency's Superintendence said in an opinion that the deal shouldn't be approved, because even if conditioned on structural remedies, it would harm consumers. After Braido's analysis, the case will be referred to the authority's governing Tribunal for a definitive ruling.See CADE statement below (in Portuguese)....
