Mexico's sham labor contracts a major challenge with Nafta, Wyden says

( July 30, 2019, 15:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Senate Finance Committee ranking member Ron Wyden said identifying hundreds of thousands of sham labor contracts in Mexico is among the "bigger challenges" with the existing North American Free Trade Agreement. The contracts "have exploited workers there and harmed workers here in the United States. Mexico must remain on track to get those contracts renegotiated on behalf of the workers’ interests," the Oregon Democrat said in his opening statement in a hearing about the pending US-Mexico-Canada Agreement, the Trump administration's replacement for Nafta.
