Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing executive charged with taking $515,000 of bribes

( March 31, 2016, 08:12 GMT | Insight) -- A manager at Tenaga Nasional’s utilities unit, Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing, has been charged with taking bribes worth 2.02 million ringgit ($515,000) from two businessmen between December 2013 and an unknown date in 2014, Free Malaysia Today reports.A manager at Tenaga Nasional’s utilities unit, Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing, has been charged with taking bribes worth 2.02 million ringgit ($515,000) from two businessmen between December 2013 and an unknown date in 2014, Free Malaysia Today reports. Shahanom Uthman was slapped with 14 charges yesterday for allegedly taking money and a BMW car from businessmen Ahsan Sabri Pang Abdullah and Te Boon Chun in return for discounts on the weight of unprocessed copper. Uthman pleaded not guilty to all the charges. If found guilty, he could face up to 20 years in jail and a fine of five times the bribes allegedly taken. The court scheduled another hearing in the case for April 29....
