Google replies to Texas antitrust suit, saying result would harm companies, consumers

( February 23, 2021, 03:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Google said in an answer to the antitrust suit filed by Texas and nine other US states in December that the complaint misunderstands the antitrust laws and Google's advertising technology, and that the remedy sought by the states would harm, rather than improve, the welfare of companies and consumers that use its ad tech services. "The government intervention sought by Plaintiffs would do significant harm to the many businesses, large and small, who choose to use Google’s effective advertising services, with a ripple effect of unintended consequences," the search and advertising giant said in a 55-page reply to the complaint.See attached document....
