TikTok fined EUR10 million in Italy over dangerous content and algorithmic promotion

The Italian competition authority said today it fined the video-sharing platform following an investigation into the dissemination of content such as the “French scar” challenge. TikTok did not take adequate measures to prevent the spread of such content, it said.
