Officials suspect works on the country’s North-South and Integration West-East lines were rigged. Companies including Constran, Construtora OAS, Construtora Andrade Gutierrez, Construtora Norberto Odebrecht and Construtora Queiroz Galvão have fallen under suspicion. Up to 37 companies are suspected of being involved. The case is an offshoot of a high-profile investigation into a cartel linked to state-controlled Petróleo Brasileiro.
