Fresenius notes NPAs settling FCPA probes, strengthened compliance efforts

( March 29, 2019, 19:30 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Fresenius Medical Care announced it has intered into nonprosecution agreements with the US Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission to settle investigations into Foreign Corrupt Practices Act violations today, noting in its press release that said it has strengthened its compliance programs and internal controls since the probes began.  The German company agreed to pay US authorities $231 million and to retain an independent compliance monitor. Fresenius also said that it had already reserved funds in anticipation of a settlement and that the FCPA resolutions will not affect its 2019 and 2020 financial results.Statement follows:...
