Industrial Emissions Directive revision gets final approval from EU lawmakers

( March 12, 2024, 13:39 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The revision of the Industrial Emissions Directive received its final green light today, after EU lawmakers approved the agreed text with member states by 393 votes in favor, 173 against and 49 abstentions. The law establishes mandatory water-consumption standards and new targets for energy efficiency and raw-material use. Pig farms will fall under the scope of the law if they have more than 350 livestock units, as will poultry farms with more than 300. The law must now be adopted by EU countries before being published in the EU Official Journal. Member states will then have 22 months to comply with this directive.Full statement follows: ...
