Microsoft, Adobe, Hancom asked by KFTC to revise terms of service for software subscriptions

( November 30, 2022, 03:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Microsoft, Adobe Systems and South Korean software developer Hancom were found to have imposed unfair terms and conditions on customers who use software-subscription services and were asked to revise them by the South Korean competition regulator. The Korea Fair Trade Commission said today that the agency’s review of the terms revealed that they restricted subscribers’ right to receive a full refund after cancellation, waived the responsibility of the companies, and made customers responsible for any damages that occurred from using their accounts. Microsoft and Hancom have already revised their terms in compliance with the regulator, while Adobe Systems is still being asked to change its terms because the company hasn’t yet made a complete revision, according to the regulator.The statement, in Korean, is attached....
