Solvay notifies CADE of plan to acquire Eastman’s stake in cellulose-acetate joint venture

( March 24, 2016, 12:50 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Belgian chemical company Solvay has notified the Brazilian competition authority of its plan to buy a 50 percent stake in Primester — a joint venture that operates in the cellulose-acetate flake market — from American company Eastman Chemical. After the transaction, Solvay will be Primester’s sole owner. The companies filed paperwork with CADE using full-form notification. Solvay is listed on NYSE-Euronext in Brussels and Paris and Eastman is listed on the New York Stock Exchange.OJ statement follows in Portuguese....
