Apple dodges class-action liability as judge denies class certification in iPhone privacy case

Tigar denied class action status for litigation that alleged Apple improperly claimed the iPhone would protect consumer privacy, but designed the smartphone in a way that allowed mobile apps to upload users' contact lists without consent.
