Colombian diaper makers fined for price-fixing cartel

( June 29, 2016, 10:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Three companies that sell disposable diapers have been found guilty of participating in a price-fixing cartel in Colombia between 2001 and 2012. Colombiana Kimberly Colpapel, Productos Familia, and Tecnoquímicas were each fined 69.95 billion pesos ($23.4 million). However, as the first company to report the cartel, Kimberly won't have to pay the fine. Familia, which also helped antitrust officials, will see its penalty halved. Drypers Andina, which ended its participation in the cartel in 2006, escaped prosecution because officials didnt bring a case against it on time. Officials concluded diaper maker Tecnosur didn't take part in the cartel....
