Alpha Bank handed GDPR fine in Greece over data disclosure

( November 18, 2022, 17:10 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Alpha Bank has been fined 40,000 euros by the Greek data protection authority for illegally disclosing a customer's data. The bank transferred a document to a former branch manager containing the customer's personal information covered by banking secrecy rules, the regulator said. The document was sent due to a dispute between the customer and the former manager, which took place when the latter was no longer a branch manager, the watchdog said. Thus, the regulator said disclosing customer data to a third party was contrary to the General Data Protection Regulation's principles of lawfulness, fairness and transparency.The decision is attached in Greek. ...
