Abistore's Czech fine for fixing sports-gear resale prices upheld
( February 11, 2021, 10:28 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Czech competition authority said today that it will maintain a fine of 1.85 million koruna ($87,000) imposed on sports-equipment wholesaler Abistore Sport. The company was found to have directly set retail prices between 2015 and 2018. The authority dismissed the legal challenge brought by Abistore to its “full extent,” and rejected the company's objections on alleged insufficiency of evidence proving illegal behavior and incorrect calculation of the fine imposed. Abistore had been sanctioned for having directly set prices together with its traders, especially on the online retail market.
