FTC seeks public comment on proposed sale of Advantage rental-car unit

( January 7, 2014, 16:17 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission is seeking public comment on Franchise Services of North America's plan to sell the Advantage car-rental business, which it acquired from Hertz Global Holdings, to The Catalyst Capital Group.  FSNA acquired Advantage through its unit Simply Wheelz as part of a settlement to resolve the FTC's concerns that Hertz's $2.3 billion acquisition of Dollar Thrifty would have been anticompetitive. Simply Wheelz filed for bankruptcy, leading to the proposed sale of Advantage to Catalyst. The comment period expires on Jan. 22.Statement follows in full. ...
